How it was made
How it was made
Gilim is the Dari word for kilim, the flat-woven rug. Dari is the language of Afghanistan, where the kilim was woven, in the town of Maimana. The kilim is woven to the exact size of the cushion, not cut from a larger rug, so the pattern sits whole on the front.
Washed, finished and given its cotton back and zip in Pakistan. Cover only, filling not included.

How do you offer such low prices?
How do you offer such low prices?
We cut out the layers that inflate prices elsewhere: no agent, no importer, no showroom margin. You buy direct from the people who make it, the same piece a UK retailer would mark up three or four times before it reached their shop floor. Label STEP audits confirm that the saving does not come out of the weaver's wage.
