Afghanistan Kilim Runners
Maimana kilim runners from 150 to 500 cm long, handwoven in wool. Flat-woven, so there is no pile to crush in a hall. Every runner gives its exact length in cm. Once a runner sells, that piece is gone.

How a Maimana kilim is made
Weavers in Maimana pass weft threads over and under the warp by hand, in wool, until the pattern builds. There is no pile to knot or tuft, so the design reads the same on the back. We buy direct from the artisan and ship direct to you.

What is a kilim runner?
A kilim runner is a long, narrow flatweave. With no pile to flatten, it takes shoes and daily walking without matting down. Ours are woven by hand in wool in Maimana, Afghanistan.
Measure the hall first
Measure the length of the space, then choose a runner that leaves a little bare floor at each end so it sits square.
How to read the length
The length in the page title is the nearest standard length. Every listing gives its exact length and width in cm, so check the listing against your space.

| 185 long | 6 | Kitchen, short hall |
