What fits a 6 x 9 ft rug?
For a dining table, add about 60 cm on every side: a 185 x 275 cm rug suits a table up to about 65 x 155 cm. For a living room, the front legs of the sofa and chairs should sit on the rug. An 8 x 10 ft rug (245 x 305 cm) suits most sofa and chair groups.
How much floor to leave
Leave about 30 cm of bare floor around the edge of the rug. In a living room, the front legs of the sofa and chairs should sit on the rug.
