What fits an 8 x 10 ft rug?
An 8 x 10 ft rug (245 x 305 cm) suits most sofa and armchair groups. For a dining table, add about 60 cm on every side: a 180 x 90 cm table needs a rug of about 300 x 210 cm, and this size fits it.
How much floor to leave
Leave about 30 cm of bare floor around the edge of the rug. In a living room, the front legs of the sofa and chairs should sit on the rug.
