What fits a 9 x 12 ft rug?
A 9 x 12 ft rug (275 x 365 cm) suits a large or open-plan living room. For a bed, let the rug extend about 60 cm past each side: a king bed (150 cm wide) needs about 270 cm, which this size covers.
How much floor to leave
Leave about 30 cm of bare floor around the edge of the rug. In a living room, the front legs of the sofa and chairs should sit on the rug.
